Honduras Dark Roast Plum, Almond, S’mores 10 oz

This is America is a deep, full-bodied dark roast that speaks to legacy, resilience, and pride—straight from the heart of Honduras. Smoky, sweet, and layered, this cup is unapologetically bold with rich notes of plum, toasted almond, and the nostalgic warmth of s’mores.

Coffee Story

Sourced from over 100 smallholder producers farming along the lush, misty slopes of Santa Barbara Mountain, this coffee is rooted in heritage and grown on land that sustains life and biodiversity. These farmers—many third- and fourth-generation—are stewards of both the environment and tradition, cultivating their harvests in harmony with the mountainous terrain and its protected national forest.

The coffee is handpicked and washed on family-owned farms, then sun-dried or finished in mechanical dryers, depending on the microclimate. The farms’ youth—averaging just 5–10 years—is the result of rebuilding after the devastating 2011 coffee leaf rust outbreak. What stands today is a powerful symbol of rebirth and resistance.

Working with our trusted partners at Exportadora San Vicente, we’ve built long-term, transparent relationships with growers who bring strength and soul to every cup.

Red Bay Coffee

Context

This Is America, sourced from Santa Barbara Mountain in Honduras and processed through washed methods, arrives from Red Bay Coffee with an intriguing profile anchored in stone fruit and toasted richness. The combination of plum and almond suggests a coffee with both bright acidity and rounded body—a pairing not uncommon in washed Central American coffees, where clean processing often emphasizes origin characteristics. The s'mores note adds textural intrigue, hinting at chocolate-forward sweetness beneath the fruit-forward opening. Coffees from this region and process typically offer clarity and balance, making this a compelling option for those seeking complexity without excessive intensity. Red Bay Coffee positions this lot as a showcase of Exportadora San Vicente's production from Honduras, inviting exploration across different brewing methods to unlock its layered sensory dimensions.
