Roasted by Everyday Coffee
Fresh Kenyan espresso with jammy blackberry, blueberry and complex acidity.

From the roaster
Thrilled to release the first of our fresh crop Kenyans, this time Gachatha as an espresso! Gachatha factory is operated by the Gachatha Farmers Cooperative Society and sits on 391 acres between the villages of Muthuaini, Thiriku, Gachenge, and Kianjau, with roughly 900 active members. This lot is a specific lot from their microlot program, which we are lucky to get our hands on. Substantial jammy blackberry and fresh blueberry flavours, with fresh lemon and brown sugar. Remarkable complex acidity. An exceptional coffee for espresso if you like big, bright and sweet!

Context
This espresso from Everyday Coffee showcases the classic profile of Kenya's Nyeri region, where high-altitude farming and careful washed processing bring clarity and brightness to the cup. The roaster identifies jammy blackberry and brown sugar notes alongside citrus and fresh blueberry—a combination that highlights both the fruit-forward character typical of this origin and the sweetness that emerges through proper processing. The Batian varietal, developed for disease resistance in East African conditions, contributes to the coffee's balanced acidity and berry-driven flavor profile. Whether pulled as straight shots or incorporated into milk drinks, this lot bridges approachability with the complex fruit notes that define quality Kenyan coffees.
