This is the first exported lot from Lucrecia's family farm, La Viña, in the village of La Hermita, San Agustín, Huila. She and husband Celso have spent many years as itinerant labourers on other farms in neighbouring provinces before returning to the family's allotment, rejuvenating the farm and ultimately grow high quality coffees. She is a new member of the Monkaaba group where she was able to receive valuable feedback on her coffee and processing and have access to market coupled with the bargaining power of the group to demand better pricing. This is very good, 100% pink bourbon variety, high elevation Huila and we are very pleased to offer Lucrecia's coffee.

Bows & Arrows Coffee

Context

This Pink bourbon from producer Lucrecia Hoyos in La Hermita, San Agustín, Huila showcases the bright, fruit-forward character typical of washed coffees from Colombia's Huila region. The combination of candied lime, red currants, and wine gums suggests a coffee with both sweet and tart dimensions—a balance that Pink bourbon varietal coffees often achieve. Bows & Arrows Coffee has highlighted the wine gum note in particular, pointing to the structured sweetness and confectionery quality in the cup. This lot offers an accessible entry point to understanding how altitude, processing method, and varietal selection work together to shape a coffee's sensory profile.
