About the Coffee

This lot is produced by 1,054 smallholder farmers who deliver ripe coffee cherries to the Karogoto Factory, located in one of Kenya's most celebrated coffee-growing regions. Nyeri is world-famous for producing some of the finest Kenyan coffee beans, thanks to its rich red volcanic soil, high elevations and cool climate that allow coffee cherries to mature slowly and develop exceptional sweetness and complexity.

Processing

Following harvest, cherries are carefully hand-sorted before being depulped and fermented for 24–36 hours. The coffee is then fully washed, density graded and dried slowly on raised African beds for up to 20 days. This meticulous process helps create the vibrant fruit character, sparkling acidity and clean finish that make washed Kenyan coffees so distinctive.
