The Natural is the firstborn in the B&W coffee family, with its origins going all the way back to the first cafe that we opened. For many in the coffee industry, a natural process coffee was their first step into consuming specialty coffee. It is a great place to start if you want to explore more fruit-forward coffees. The Natural as a product will vary in its components throughout the year. This variation is how we embrace and celebrate the seasonal availability of naturally processed coffees.

This naturally-processed Ethiopian coffee from Black & White Coffee Roasters draws its character from both origin and method. Sourced from Ethiopia's Sidamo region—a high-altitude area spanning 1650–2000 masl—the beans underwent natural processing, a technique that typically amplifies fruit-forward flavors through extended skin contact during drying. The roaster identifies red fruits and chocolate as the coffee's defining notes, with balanced acidity supporting the profile rather than dominating it. This combination suggests a coffee that bridges traditional Ethiopian fruit expressiveness with approachable sweetness, making it accessible to those exploring the full sensory range of specialty coffee.
