About the Coffee
Grown by smallholder producers in the high-altitude regions surrounding Jaén in Peru's Cajamarca region, this coffee benefits from rich volcanic soils, tropical rainfall and ideal growing conditions for producing high-quality Arabica coffee beans.
Many of the farmers contributing to this lot work independently, cultivating and harvesting their coffee using traditional methods passed down through generations. The combination of elevation, climate and careful processing helps create the sweet, balanced profile that makes Peruvian specialty coffee increasingly sought after.
Processing
After harvest, ripe coffee cherries are hand-pulped, fermented and carefully dried on patios and raised beds before being delivered as parchment coffee to Falcon's Jaén warehouse.
Since the establishment of Falcon Peru SARL in 2018, producers have benefited from improved drying facilities and a dedicated quality control laboratory, helping to enhance consistency while preserving the unique character of each harvest.
Sustainability & Traceability
This coffee is sourced through Falcon's Blueprint Project, ensuring full traceability and fair value throughout the supply chain. Peru is also home to Falcon's Carbon Project, an initiative launched in 2022 to better understand and reduce carbon emissions at farm level while supporting the long-term sustainability of coffee production.
