About: Sítio Dois Irmãos is a family-run farm in Brazil’s Mantiqueira de Minas region, where coffee production is shaped by generational knowledge and a gradual shift toward quality-focused practices. The farm is operated by the Vilas Boas family, whose work reflects a broader movement within the region toward more intentional and precise coffee production.
For many years, the farm followed a traditional, volume-driven model. A turning point came in 2013 when the family partnered with the COCARIVE cooperative, gaining access to technical support and a network of quality-focused producers. This relationship encouraged changes in both farming and processing, leading to a more selective and controlled approach.
Today, the farm is managed by Antônio Vilas Boas’ sons, Allan and Allex, who represent a new generation building on their family’s foundation. Their work centers on careful farm management, including pruning, soil health, and organic fertilization, alongside improved post-harvest practices.
Sítio Dois Irmãos reflects the steady evolution of Mantiqueira producers—family-led operations refining their methods to produce consistent, high-quality coffees with long-term sustainability in mind.

Context
Natural-processed coffees tend to showcase fruit-forward, jammy characteristics—a trait that stems from extended contact between the bean and fruit during drying. This Brazil Dois Irmãos from Proud Mary Coffee showcases that profile through the lens of Catuai, a varietal bred for balance and approachability. Sourced from Sítio Dois Irmãos in the Mantiqueira de Minas region of Minas Gerais, the coffee grows at 1300 masl, an elevation that supports complexity in a traditionally fruit-driven natural process.
Catuai's inherent sweetness pairs well with the fermentation-driven notes typical of natural processing, creating layered cup profiles. For a deeper exploration of how process shapes flavor, consult the flavor wheel alongside tasting notes to identify the specific fruit and fermentation markers present in your cup.
