In the 19th century, coffee pioneers Alejo C. Jiménez and Wilhelm Kahle shared the dream to produce exceptional coffee. Descendants of these visionary farmers in Costa Rica uphold the tradition of producing coffee with the same ideals of excellence and quality. Today, the farm is managed by Alejo Khale Castro, a fifth-generation producer who wants to further enhance the principles of quality inherited by his ancestors by adding the value of conservancy of natural resources, through the acquisition of extensions of natural rainforest for its protection and conservation. Alejo's dedication to quality and innovative drive has seen Volcán Azul picking up multiple places in Cup of Excellence competitions across the family farms.
