Context

Jhonatan Gasca's washed Geisha from Huila, Colombia represents a compelling pairing of varietal and processing method. The Geisha is prized for its delicate, tea-like clarity and floral aromatics—qualities that washed processing typically accentuates by removing fruit contact during fermentation. Code Black Coffee's espresso roast emphasizes these characteristics through lemon brightness, honeysuckle florals, and violet notes, with white sugar providing sweetness and body.

Grown at 1,800 meters in Huila's high-altitude terroir, this lot benefits from conditions that support the varietal's inherent complexity. Whether exploring the nuanced florality of Geisha or investigating how roast decisions shape single-origin expression, this coffee offers an accessible entry point into specialty espresso's more refined territory.
