This year’s lot once again features the Villa Sarchi variety — a natural mutation of the Bourbon coffee plant, originally discovered in the village of Sarchi, Costa Rica.

Sourced from Hacienda Sonora in Costa Rica, this lot showcases the Villa Sarchi varietal through natural processing—a method that tends to amplify fruit-forward and heavy-bodied characteristics. Produced by Alberto & Diego Guardia, this Caffènation roast expresses a compelling contrast between earthy, smokey elements and darker fruit notes, with the roaster identifying tobacco and dark chocolate anchoring the cup alongside berry complexity.
