Climpson & Sons began as a market coffee cart before founder Ian Burgess established a permanent café at 67 Broadway Market, a former butchers' shop in Hackney, in 2002. Roasting their coffees at a nearby London Fields roastery, the company positions itself as one of the pioneers of London's specialty coffee scene. Their café menu centres on two signature offerings: the Broadway Blend, a bespoke seasonal coffee suited to flat whites and espresso, and The Fields, a rotating boundary-pushing seasonal selection. The café sources daily pastries and filled focaccia from Dusty Knuckle and uses produce from local businesses, reflecting a commitment to sustaining the surrounding Hackney community. Customers can also purchase retail coffees, home brewing equipment, and explore a range of single-origin and blended options. The café is equipped with a La Marzocco KB90 espresso machine, Mahlkönig E65 grinder, and a Curtis Gold Cup brewer.
