49th Parallel Coffee Roasters was founded in Vancouver in 2004 by brothers Vince and Michael Piccolo and became one of Canada's most important specialty pioneers, an early adopter of direct trade with producers. Known for balanced roasting and its popular Lucky's Doughnuts cafés, 49th Parallel helped define West Coast Canadian coffee culture and trained many figures in the national scene.
