From the roaster

We’re thrilled to bring back this washed typica mejorado from Abel Salinas. Abel grew up around farming, planted his first coffee trees 10 years ago in February 2016 after 16 years working as a miner. He quickly became renowned in Loja, winning Ecuador’s 2021 Cup of Excellence.

This coffee is delicate and crisp, with notes of white peach, soft orange, date-like sweetness, and a creamy, toffee mouthfeel.

Context

Finca Arashi, produced by Abel Salinas in Ecuador's Loja region, showcases Typica Mejorado—a varietal known for balanced, approachable profiles. The washed process here yields a clean cup with distinctive stone fruit and caramel notes: white peach and soft orange layered with date-like sweetness, all finished by a creamy, toffee mouthfeel. At 1890 meters, the high-altitude cultivation supports the coffee's refined sweetness and body. Regalia Coffee has roasted this lot to highlight its softer, dessert-forward character—making it an accessible entry point for those exploring single-origin washed Ecuadorian coffees.
