Equator Coffees
Pioneering woman- and LGBT-owned California roaster and certified B Corp.

Equator Coffees was founded in the San Francisco Bay Area in 1995 by partners Helen Russell and Brooke McDonnell, making it one of the longest-running and most prominent woman- and LGBT-owned roasters in the United States. A certified B Corporation, Equator built its identity around sustainability, social impact, and long-term producer partnerships, including investment in farms such as its own in Panama. Recognised as a U.S. Small Business of the Year and a fixture of Bay Area coffee, Equator pairs ethical leadership with consistent, balanced roasting.
