Albert Hotel
Roasted by Merit Coffee
Balanced house blend combining Colombia, Honduras, and Ethiopia for body, florals, and sweetness.

From the roaster
Milk Chocolate • Praline • Vanilla
The Albert Hotel House Blend was custom-designed solely for the pleasure of our guests and created to be enjoyed both in the morning as an introduction to the day's possibilities and as a reflective break in the afternoon.
Balanced yet intriguing, the Albert Hotel Blend is thoughtfully comprised of three distinct origins. Yet, when combined, these components work together to create a comforting and refined blend. Colombia for body and brightness, Honduras for floral tones and balance, Ethiopia for depth and sweetness.
The process of creating Albert Hotel’s house blend was entirely collaborative. I started beforehand understanding their expectations – approachable yet unique, an elevated all-day drinking coffee. Based on this direction, I made four variations using different ingredients and ratios. We brewed them at our Roastery in San Antonio and unanimously agreed on Version #3 – which you are about to enjoy!

— Merit Coffee
Context
Merit Coffee presents the Albert Hotel, a coffee emphasizing cocoa-forward sweetness. The tasting profile centers on milk chocolate and praline—flavors that align with roasted nut and chocolate categories on the flavor wheel—rounded out by vanilla's creamy backdrop. This combination suggests a medium roast weight that preserves chocolate notes while developing the deeper, sweeter compounds associated with caramelized sugars and toasted elements. The Albert Hotel appears designed for those seeking comfort and approachability in a cup, with flavor notes that sit comfortably in mainstream specialty coffee territory rather than emphasizing origin-specific or delicate characteristics.
