Proud Mary Coffee was founded in Melbourne in 2009 by Nolan Hirte and became known for ambitious, high-end sourcing — including rare and competition-grade lots — and a bold, generous hospitality style. The brand later expanded to Portland, Oregon, becoming one of the few roasters to bridge the Australian and American specialty scenes directly. Proud Mary embodies the Melbourne ethos of treating coffee as a destination experience.
