Volcán-Candela

Volcán and the surrounding Candela area sit on the western and southern flanks of Volcán Barú in Chiriquí, opposite Boquete, and form the other half of Panama's elite Geisha country. Slightly drier and sunnier than Boquete's misty east side, the Volcán–Candela highlands between roughly 1,200 and 1,800 metres have produced numerous Best of Panama winners and host renowned estates and the Candela mill that serves many smallholders. Both washed and natural Geisha, Caturra, and Catuai thrive here, yielding intensely floral, tea-like, and tropical cups. The area underscores that Panama's Geisha reputation rests on the wider Barú volcanic terroir, not Boquete alone.
